Stunning landings have always been the strong suit of the T-28 design. The Carbon-Z T-28 continues that legacy. This T-28 easily landed without flaps, but the rollout took up a lot of runway. A modern 60-70cc mid wing plane will fly differently--much more precise and aggressive for aerobatics and 3D. I currently have a 3dhs slick 89. Super good flying characteristics. I fly some 3D, but certainly not hardcore 3D. I don't see myself doing that anytime soon either. Maybe is a slick 89 overkill for me also.

After speaking with the the tech at GP he suggested I pull the carb off to closely check the idle transition ports. When I removed the carb and turned it over I found my issue, the butterfly was bent on one side of the shaft at about a 20 degree angle.Basic tuning: 1 - Tune the engine when it is warm, and double check the tune after a flight. 2 - On the Walbro there is a little silver screw on the carb that is an "idle set screw". it has a spring on it and it sets how low the low throttle arm will physically go down. The Gp123 is 200 grams lighter than the Dle 130, So that is something to consider if going for a super light weight setup. I dont feel from what i have seen that the 130 will have any more power than the Gp, Especially as is got more weight on it. So if it does pull more, Its got more weight that takes away from the extra power.

The couple of times we checked the static thrust we got right around 125/126 pounds swinging a 37 x 13 prop. That prop at full throttle rips, but where we fly sound is a none issue. Helped a friend build a Bill Hemple 50% Edge a couple of years ago with a 3W 275 on cans, swinging a 37 x 13 prop.
