In my opinion, Season 20 is a return to a more violent gritty Gunsmoke. A grim older Matt Dillon returns to the gunfight in the street that opened episodes in previous seasons until standards and practices at CBS had that iconic shootout replaced With a scene of Marshal Dillion riding his galloping horse.
