The pattern doesn't drop randomly from wellspring, to get it you have to fully complete all of the evidence board quests at the enclave until you get the last one, called REVERSE-LURE. After completing that it should just give you the exotic pattern.

Thought I was the only one farming 2 weeks for glaive patterns or there was something else needing to be completed besides acquiring the first glaive….at least now I know the drop is the same as a raid exotic, I still can’t vex mythoclast to drop and Eyes of Tomorrow took me 40 clears.Yes, the patterns can drop regardless of the class running the activity. However you can not forge the glaive unless you are using the character that matches the class.

The exotic glaives are tied to the wellspring because one quest that unlocks the exotic glaive quest requires you to craft 2 wellspring drop weapons, the glaives are not random drops and once you've unlocked both weapon patterns for the quest you don't need to play wellspring again for you other characters ... Just farm master or GM NFs, plus you get more upgrade materials and NF weapons in addition to exotics. I believe legend is 25% drop rate per run and master is 33% or something like that. Considering master is harder and takes longer, you're better off farming legend in my experience.That's the same problem the exotic glaives have now too. The Hunter glaive also has a faster rate of fire than the others which can catch people by surprise sometimes. The Hunter one is actually really fun with Arc 3.0. They can drop from Wellspring on any character, the drop chance of the pattern is NOT tied to class.

In my opinion, I think the drop rate for the other 2 Exotic Glaive pieces is still too low. I got the quest done for the first Exotic Glaive done 2 days ago and I've been farming WellSpring for the other pieces needed to craft the other 2 since. The Titan glaive (imo as a warlock main) is by far the best, with the Warlock glaive close behind, but once you see the Hunter glaive, you'll see that "best exotic glaive" isn't a high bar to clear. Then compare them to the legendary glaives. I pray as a hunter that the arc update gives the glaive some use.
