Starting with the main tv upstairs on and viewing my existing directtv account I installed a 2 way splitter just as the xfinity cable enters the house. From there 1 wire went to the gateway (Which is up and running no problems) and the 2nd went on the same port on the main splitter that the current directv input was attached to.
