Iwe ford f150 noise.
I have a 2020 f150 with 10k miles on it. Recently I have had the IWE issue come and go intermittently. The IWE system is what locks and unlocks the front hubs when you change back and forth from 2WD and 4WD. The system works off of vacuum and functions a little counter-intuitively in that it uses vacuum to keep the hubs unlocked for 2WD and shuts off the vacuum to lock the front hubs for 4WD.

An IWE Rattle would be evident at highway speeds, but the hum/grind would be faint to hear over cabin noise. And the noise isn't always at those speeds. If the problem exists in the highway, one would expect it to happen around town as well, as the rpm increases manifold vacuum is lessened, allowing the IWE to attempt to lock up.
