GX345 Surging Engine Problems. I have a JD 2005 GX345 garden tractor with a 20hp liquid cooled Kawasaki engine. I am having trouble with the engine surging after it warms up very badly. I have done the following things to rectify the problem with no success. These new engines of all makes are running so lean you can not running them without an air filter which makes it hard to do carb work on some of them. On some engines I have had to make a special filter set up to do carb work.

It will prevent the build up of gunk in the carbs. The way you did it the old gas sat in the carb bowls depositing the crap, then you put the seafoam in to clean it up. Prvention is better than an attempt at a cure.

Troubleshooting a throttle/fuel issue on a FH661V Kawasaki engine. Cranking the engine with choke works and I can idle the engine on low. When I apply throttle, the engine appears to be starving of fuel and will shut off within one minute. I can extend that minute by applying more choke but that's obviously not a working solution.
