Pro-ject gives you a felt mat but dampens the platter with a rubber ring whereas Fluance gives you a rubber mat on an undampened platter. The EVO uses a better built motor, but the Fluance's cheaper motor seems to be better controlled if the wow & flutter specs are honest.
