In my research I was told to loosen the barrel lock nut a little. After I removed the forend I found the lock nut appeared to be stripped, it moved ...The hinge-pin screw on the Sub9 is completely different than the Sub-2000, as is the length. The "extended" sling hinge screw for the Sub2000 sling kit isn't even as long as the original Sub9 screw. I've seen pic's of the original Sub9 kit, and it was an extended screw, and a nice all-metal nut with a sling swivel on it.

While the earlier Kel-tecs had strickly numerical serial numbers, for a few years now, they are all alpha-numeric. Each different model starts with a different letter. P11s all start with A. This problem really just started to crop up on new Subs in the last year or so, and Kel-tec's fix seems to be simply replacement of the safety shaft. I honestly don't know if they had a run of shafts that were out of some tolerance or what is causing this. 911.
