I found that a cut to length piece of a plastic Q-Tip stick works very well as a pin to help hold the hammer block and spring together while shoving into the confined space, then the retainer pin will push the Q-Tip pin right on through. A few could not, without breaking it. I was able to get one off by inserting a blade under the rear wall of the mag and prying the rear piece out from under, then pull the 2 pieces apart.
