Grab a hold of left inner cv and see if you can pull it out by hand. Normally If visco is toast it will grind when trying to engage .

The steering wheel would not turn either left or right. We were able to lift the Commander up to remove the pressure from the front drivers side and the tire/wheel was hand turned back the straight position and I was able to drive home 15+ miles w/o issues.
