1. If you want to do F7 soon, then necro lord as it make even cata 24 mages be able to survive everything they need. For every 2-3 cata levels from cata 24 you can add one storm piece. 2. If you want to do only F6 with F7 comp (why? F7 more profitable, more cata xp and grinding hundreds of F6 won't fix skill issue towards F7) then go for storm.

The F7 clear is not relly different from any other floor, apart from one new room: bomb diffuse. You can either cheese it (there are many good guids on YT) or do it legit, which i dont suggest.
