Ffxiv no sound.
Compilation of "fixes" for the sound issues during gameplay. As many of you know and experienced, the game has been having some problems with sound, during combat, around big cities, etc. Before the new patch, I managed to mitigate most of them by simply setting the equalizer to standard. After the patch, most of the time I have to mute the game.

When you connect a PS4 controller, it sometimes tries to set the controller as the sound output. Make sure to go into windows and change back to the sound device you want after plugging it in. I tried switching to proton 7 - 13 and opening the game in desktop mode to see if it would do any good and by a fluke as the game launched I saw a "mute icon" over the FFXIV icon on the taskbar as the game launched.803K subscribers in the ffxiv community. The Glitch is done by opening your chocobo saddle bag and housing preview menu at the same time. In more populated areas such as Gridania, Limsa or (nowadays) Wolf's Den there are constant chatter sounds due to heavy population but clipping is not present. Disabling ambient sounds in the settings removes the issue, but then I can't hear nature and it sucks. I'm running the game on DX11, WIN10. These sound issues are really problematic. I had the severe stuttering issue with my sound. Switching from DX11 -> DX9 (as recommended in the SE thread) did solve the issue for me. You can change the setting in the Launcher window from the Gear Icon.The 44.1 Mhz sound change did not help.
My sound devices are all working properly as I can hear sounds of everything else; Windows 10, league of legends, other games, youtube, etc, I can hear everything except FFXIV. I have tried updating audio drivers, unplugging/replugging cables, different headphones, etc, nothing works.
