The 17 is more accurate than the ACE, 1.4 MOA vs 3MOA when using surplus German DAG Ammo. The 17 has a lot of recoil in factory configuration so I tuned it down by buying a new gas jet which was $8 and easy to install. My ACE 308 won’t hold zero when I take the top cover on and off, so it is a big annoyance.

First shot especially will almost always be 2moa or worse to the right. Oddly, once the first shell ejects, it typically bumps the cover to the leftmost placement. The rail is stable enough to maintain good accuracy with a red dot, but accuracy snobs may be disappointed with magnified optic performance. To me these shine as red-dot equipped fighting rifles, not precision tools. Reliability has been 100 percent across all three of my ACEs. All of which has been .223 or 55gr 193.
