As far as i know it should lead all the way to the surface to another alien ship.This means you need to start a new ramp. Simply start another ramp at the end of your first ramp. You will do this maybe 5 or 6 times, each time the distance between ramps will get smaller and smaller. Or, you can do it in a zig-zag like fashion (like how stairs are arranged in big buildings) .

Hey, just wanted to say you only need to power ONE surface node in order to access the core. There's only six so that. A: No matter where you start on the planet you have access to one and. B: You can use them in multiple spots on the planet if you so choose to activate those nodes.
