If you look at the module with the terminals pointing down, the two on the left go to the pickup coil (black and blue on my '86).Remove the gas tank cover. Then remove the gas tank and you can easily get to the starter. Two bolts and one wire and the starter is ready to pull out and replace with a new one. Thanks for the interest. The fan switch is in the radiator, so it does not get hot enough to kick on when the thermostat is stuck shut.
