He said that sheet metal and all is in good shape. Also said that he never had problems missing bales. I have a 24t baler and am currently running 9000 foot twine and it misses a lot of bales. I seriously doubt the gears are broken, probably just got jammed and broke the shear bolt. The 346 is a fairly high capacity baler and should be able to take a lot of hay. You should get a genuine JD shear bolt.... or several, don't use a normal bolt. Tractor. Many. I doubt that there is any significant difference to the different years. The 14t balers made prior to the 24t have very similar mechanisms. They are very good balers and highly sought after. There is a million and one grease fittings on them. I like to grease them after 600 or so bales.
