1. Jun 11, 2012 / La115 starting and running problems. #1. Hi all, new to the forum, first post. I've been browsing various places on help getting my John Deere LA115 mower to run. Let me preface this by saying I am not very mechanically inclined, and I might not get a lot of technical jargon right, and might appear to be an idiot in this area.
Order new Crankshaft Output Seal. New Oil & Oil Filter. 120 Grit Sandpaper. 1 1/2" Pipe Coupler (2 1/4" O Diameter) by 6" long. Rubber Mallet. You'll need to drain the oil & remove oil filter, remove belts from Engine pully, remove pully from engine, use a very thin Flathead Screwdriver and pry out the old seal.The John Deere LA125 is a LA105 series lawn tractor. My understanding is that the transmission manufacturer, ie: tuff torq, or who ever will not sell a unit made for a deere to anyone in regards to their contract they have with deere. C.
