Ollantaytambo has much nicer views of the mountain. It's a narrow part of the valley. Urubamba is in a wider spot so you don't have the mountains rising right on the edge of the town quite to the same extent. And Ollantaytambo has the ruins right in town which enhance the view. Machu Picchu and the Uros Islands were the highlights for us in Peru. Gate 1 set us up to fly into Buenos Aires first and then over to Lima and back to the US through LA.
