Oct 13, 2021 · Hi, I have a litter robot 3 purchased on the 11-08-2020 - Order No 1036965. We have a continuos flashing yellow light (Pinch Detector Problem) I have completed the following: -. Removed the “2 metal pins” and cleaned them - not dirty and afterwords checked the continuity between them - OK. Checked the 2 magnets - OK. Cleaned the DFI sensor. Tips and tricks for litter robot (pinch detect hack) Gives good tips. Also a very useful mod to protect pinch detect sensor. Final thing I’ll say, petroleum jelly on the metal connector for the pinch detect to help prevent corrosion. Mods, if you see this post please pin for future users to see. This is super useful! I finally ordered a completely new pinch detector and DFI kit. I changed it all out, it was working great for about a month. Now these past few days I am back to seeing the pinch detector alerts. I absolutely despise having to open the litter robot and have probably about a good 10x now. I have had the pinch detect warning come up a handful of times now in the past 3 months or so. Usually I just take apart the machine, clean out any debris, make sure the pinch detect metal pieces are in place and touching, put the machine back together and typically that will fix the issue. This time, however, nothing seems to work.

Within 2 weeks I started getting false full errors, and then today it has failed due to the pinch detect fault. I've spent hours watching self repair videos, cleaned the sensors, cleared the pinch detectors, and after 2 cycles it is back to pinch default errors. They over engineered this thing to have sensitive parts exposed to corrosion.
