Pranicura hasn't healed it, but it keeps it from getting irritated and is soothing. I'm a big fan of this cream. In my experience, the only thing that was effective for a chronic fissure was surgery. That being said, I did find that calmoseptine was helpful and that is similar to Pranicura. I have yet to see any studies that prove Pranicura or other OTC medications have the capability to heal anal fissures (let alone provide pain relief). If these studies existed, Pranicura would be a prescription medication making $500/script instead of selling OTC for $50/jar.
