Re: Old San Juan vs San Juan. 1 year ago. Save. If you stay in OSJ you will have plenty of bars and restaurants but not beach, but you can easily get a 10min Uber ride to the beach. After being in Rincon, I think it would be a nice thing to stay in OSJ for the last part of your trip. One day is certainly not enough and I advise 2 to 3 days to experience the city, visiting it both, day and night. We didn't, and I wouldn't advise you to lodge in old San Juan. Choose Condado or preferably Isla Verde. Both neighborhoods have terrific beaches while old San Juan does not, and they're only a 10-15 min, 10-15 $ Uber/Taxi drive. Review. Save.
